Below is The Best Backyard Privacy Policy. We take your privacy very seriously and our privacy policy below describes the information we collect, the steps we take to keep your data secure and protect your privacy.

We collect the information in order to provide products or services to you effectively and efficiently (e.g. to process payments or collect order delivery details), to monitor / improve our website & product offerings & to collect data as required by Australian law.

SECTION 1 - WHAT DO WE DO WITH YOUR INFORMATION?

Website Purchases: When you purchase something from our store, as part of the buying and selling process, we collect the personal information you give us such as your name, address and email address.

When you browse our store, we also automatically receive your computer’s internet protocol (IP) address in order to provide us with information that helps us learn about your browser and operating system.

Email marketing: With your permission, we may send you emails about our store, new products and other updates.

Website Analytics: To help us understand our website visitors, and how we can improve our website we use Google analytics. You can prevent your data from being used by Google Analytics on websites by installing the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout We also employ IP address masking, a technique used to truncate IP addresses collected by Google Analytics and store them in an abbreviated form to prevent them from being traced back to individual users. 

Portions of our website may also use Google Analytics for Display Advertisers including DoubleClick or Dynamic Remarketing which provide interest-based ads based on your visit to this or other websites.

How do you get my consent?

SECTION 4 - SHOPIFY

Our store is hosted by Shopify. They provide us with the online e-commerce platform that allows us to sell our products and services to you. Your data is stored through Shopify’s data storage, databases and the general Shopify application. They store your data on a secure server behind a firewall.

Payment Methods
At The Best Backyard we offer a number of payment options including credit card payment, Paypal, Afterpay and bank transfer.

If you choose a direct payment gateway to complete your purchase using a credit card, then Shopify stores your credit card data. It is encrypted through the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS). Your purchase transaction data is stored only as long as is necessary to complete your purchase transaction. After that is complete, your purchase transaction information is deleted.

All direct payment gateways adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover. PCI-DSS requirements help ensure the secure handling of credit card information by our store and its service providers. If you complete your purchase using a 3rd party, such as Paypal or Afterpay then they will have their own privacy policy and we are not responsible for any data collected during the payment process. Your payment information is not passed on to us by these 3rd party services.

In general, the third-party providers used by us will only collect, use and disclose your information to the extent necessary to allow them to perform the services they provide to us.

However, certain third-party service providers, such as payment gateways and other payment transaction processors, have their own privacy policies in respect to the information we are required to provide to them for your purchase-related transactions.

The Best Backyard is located in Australia, however some of the services we use, including website hosting and payment processing maybe located outside Australia.
